Interpreter accreditation and appropriate types of work

a) NAATI Interpreter Level interpreters (also formerly known as Level 3 Interpreters) are required for court work, police and legal appointments and assignments deemed by the SLC Interpreting Service Officers that are of a high and demanding level.
 
b) NAATI Para-professional Level interpreters (formerly Level 2) are suitable to be used for smaller groups/meetings and one-to-one appointments. In some situations which would normally require an Interpreter-level standard, a Para-professional interpreter may be contracted, as long as the consent of all parties is sought and received.
